Come home to one of Rochester’s most charming waterfront villages

The Village of Fairport dates back to the early 1820s when construction of the Erie Canal drained the wetlands and paved the way for a busy canal landing with a reputation for being a “fair port.”

Today Fairport’s canal waterfront is the hub of village life, with shopping, dining and gathering spots lining the waterway, and a bustling year round calendar of events and activities.

Enjoy live entertainment throughout the summer months, including canalside concerts at the gazebo at Kennelly Park, and live stage performances, festivals and concerts  at Center Stage at Center Park, a large outdoor amphitheater just minutes from the village.

The Village event calendar also boasts a seemingly endless roster of festivals throughout the year as well, such as the Fairport Music and Food Festival.

Fairport also has its own Farmer’s Market operating from May to November. Visit it after a ride down Fairport’s scenic stretch of the  Erie Canal towpath, a popular walking/biking path, one of the most popular sections on the entire 340 miles of the Erie Canal.

And of course, there are a wealth of dining, shopping, and entertainment options, from independently owned artisans and mom and pop shops, to popular national chains.

Friendly, convenient, social, and scenic, there’s no better place to live than right here in Fairport, New York. Visit the www.fairportpartnership.org to learn more about what makes Fairport great.
